Hanged

Hanged

I have climbed so high branches worry
I will tumble, lean
a shade too far, strike
the gnarled yew below.
The birds paint my skin blush
and russet, string notes
light enough to sway me here
dangling by one knee.

A fool who dares to be worthy, desire
crouched above wondrous earth.

LOVE the first line. And the rest of it, but the first line really speaks.

Thank you. Thought of it while avoiding mirrors at work.
