Heedless

Heedless

Your intent impels my skin, violet impressions
bloom on my throat as we stand

a hallway apart. Your eyes weigh on my lip, stutter
down my collarbone, lie defeated at the edge
of the arch. My words fracture
your skin. The walls, eager
for bloody conjunctions

prepositions I drive through your sternum.
I clasp my hands
behind, fingers splayed
against my ribs.
Your every step insists,
every print marked further down the hall.

Obstinate, that you will do more than speak, more
than bleed.

Shut your ears, I will close my eyes.

My body, a blade.
When you fall upon me
t
he agony will be kind.
