I have climbed so high branches worry 
I will tumble, lean
a shade too far, strike
the gnarled yew below.
The birds paint my skin blush
and russet, string notes
light enough to sway me here
dangling by one knee.

A fool who dares to be worthy, desire
crouched above wondrous earth.
