A / N: Written under the influence of the Solstice and a full moon. Apparently the fluff I am planning could wait for this little shadow.

It was a comfortable arrangement.

Sherlock wasn’t one to judge, at least on this particular point. He didn’t see the merit in most of the ephemeromorphs posing as the human race, but to each there are exceptions. John, Mrs. Hudson, Lestrade--occasionally.

The flat really was the perfect setting for experiments, even if there was less room with John sharing it now. But John didn’t inflame his nerves as the typical incompetent did, so it was fine. And Mrs. Hudson was very understanding of his habits, the perfect landlady

Mrs. Hudson was interesting in her own way. She took care of them, after a fashion, when she wasn’t distracted. Sherlock could certainly relate to the need to be occupied. He had thought of Mrs. Hudson’s particular method of relief, but knew it was too much of a risk. He appreciated living rent-free of course, and she did give him the remainders.

He adores his skull.

Mrs. Hudson hadn’t needed his expertise in her husband’s case, but he did provide an excellent cover story, as did Molly, although Sherlock never needed parts from the morgue now.

He enjoyed the fact only he could penetrate Mrs. Hudson’s façade. She really was quite charming, especially the day after a successful hunt.

If they could get John in on it, they'd be one happy little family. Like the Borgias... (-:
