Author: ciaranbochna
Characters: Loki, Frigga, Volstagg, Fandral, mentions of Thor and Odin
Fandom: Avengers movieverse

Length: 958 words
Disclaimer: I own neither the characters nor the world of the Marvel universe

Warnings: Grief, suicide and discussions thereof, mental instability.  This may be very triggery for most. I cannot warn strongly enough about that.
A/N: This one was close to the bone, so there may be more than grammatical errors here. Apologies and further warnings. I also realize this is very similar to To Burn, which is referenced here. I may delete this later.

They will never fail to attendCollapse )

Fandom: Sherlock
Length: 505
Disclaimer: I own neither the characters nor the world of Sherlock

A/N: A prompt from  watsons_woes This one was a picture prompt - a tree growing though a piano.

As soon as he entered the flat he knew something was wrongCollapse )
The world has been...a trial recently, so this is the first I have written since the poem for my brother.  Prompts from comment_fic

Avengers movieverse, Loki, no redemption (Rings)

Every finger a strand of condemnation.

Fairy tales, author's choice, evil wins.

Ten thousand jars of souls, won.

Author's choice, any, no more time (double fill)

What was soft is now stone.  You are a static, unraveling memory.

Author's choice, any, difficult to forgive

The empty teacup;  a hollow  frame.

Author's choice, any, dead city (double fill)

Through the steel and morning glory it collects their lingering, spent conversations.

Welcome to Nightvale, through the doors. (double fill)

It's a beautiful, illusionary morning Nightvale. Please remember, doors open three ways.

A tiny little person under so much fur. Diminutive in voice, fastidious in nature (if it isn't clean, I won't sleep on it), and had the ability to charm everyone who knew her. The vet staff loved her, as everyone did. This place is not a home without her.  Goodnight sweetheart.

My Brother - Greg Reid

Was a brilliant man. He had a heart as great as the frame that contained it. One it took time to find. My mother and I adopted him as our own and he claimed us in turn. My mother told him he was an ass when they first met--he was shocked, because he thought he always charmed friends' parents, but it made him smile (and he could be an ass when it suited him). His family and fiance adored him. He was a proud Haida, and called me Jaas (sister). I will miss his sarcasm, ability to exasperate me, and our mutual love of movies and books. He introduced me to Batman, Akira Kurosawa, and Shogun Assassin. I introduced him to Charles De Lint, Jim Butcher, Dan Simmons and Holly Cole. He used to say my taste in music was beyond him, and believed I was well-read and intelligent, even though I never did/do.

His nephews and niece believed he hung the moon, and his finance Lana  adores him. He loved his mother dearly, and freely admitted that he was a "mama's boy." He loved to cook (especially barbeque), was just learning to bake. He was always tinkering with cars, and never happier than when he was fixing something. He always told stories, and wrote often  (he was working on a graphic novel). He loved working with children, previously at summer camps, and currently the group home he was working at with his sister until the day he died. Every life he touched was changed, and we will all remember him. He and I didn't see each other for long periods at times, but I loved him, and he always said it was as if no time had passed when we got together again. I love you Greg. I will see you again.

Is being taken to the emergency vet tomorrow morning. She is only eating a teaspoon of the kidney diet a day, if that. She is a ghost, and barely has the energy to move.  It was quick with my first cat (not that it makes it easier, obviously). This is...agonizing. We have tried everything, including force feeding her, to no avail. They will try at the vet, but I just...can't process. Friends on Twitter have been kind. Positive thoughts appreciated all around. Including those of sleep.. I am going to read now.  Pretend.

A Courtyard of Black Apples

Author: ciaranbochna
Characters: Loki, Thor, Yggdrasil, OC
Fandom: Avengers movieverse
Length: 1933
Disclaimer: I own neither the characters nor the world of the Marvel universe

Warnings: Grief, self-destructive behavior, mental instability.  Far too many sibling cliches and exposition. I have grave misgivings about this one.
A/N: Another prompt from  comment_fic - Conversations at the end. The theme was dialogue-only. This experiment brought to you by characters (and a writer) who rambles far too much, and too often.

We were more than weapons to each other onceCollapse )

Ritual Masks

Author: ciaranbochna
Characters: Loki, Yggdrasil, OC
Fandom: Avengers movieverse
Length: 821 words
Disclaimer: I own neither the characters nor the world of the Marvel universe

Warnings: Grief, self-destructive behavior, mental instability
A/N: Another prompt from the  comment_fic archive -  It only hurts.  A friend and I were mentioning recently that when we have no spoons to deal with reality, our characters spoons lend us strength to deal with our own. Of late, this has never been more true.

The architects do not know how they appearedCollapse )

To Burn

Author: ciaranbochna
Characters: Loki, Frigga
Fandom: Avengers movieverse
Length: 419 words
Disclaimer: I own neither the characters nor the world of the Marvel universe

Warnings: Allusions to suicide (apologies, I wasn't consciously intending that) and self-destructive behavior.
A/N: Another prompt from the  comment_fic archive - Avengers movieverse, Loki, lightning.

He doesn't remember reaching for the lighningCollapse )
